MikeAtSea Says: On the Southern end of the town of Adenau one finds the Buttermarkt. These magnificent timer houses were created in the early 18th century. One of the characteristics of the Buttermarkt is a statue of a local traditional woman with two children.

The Blue Corner: Dine in one of the oldest houses in town
MikeAtSea Says: This restaurant is located in one of the oldest buildings of the old town centre in Adenau. Modern renovated inside with three buildings combined it offers magnificent regional dishes with good service. I enjoyed the Rump Steak with Mustard Sauce.
Landhaus Sonnenhof: Overpriced Tradition
MikeAtSea Says: Most expensive with a design that one would normally find in Bavaria. However in my eyes the hospitality and gastronomy that one tries to do here is substandard to the good traditional restaurants in the region.

Helpfulness
The Eifel Region consists of plenty forested landscapes that are home to deer and wild boar as well as other game. Driving during the night may end suddenly when game jumps out into the road and every year hundreds of accidents, sometimes even fatal occur here. Hence take the foot of the gas and drive carefully – once you have hit a full grown deer your journey may have come to an end!
