Kroev is a small village in a distance of about 15km from Bernkastel.
They have a great and famous wine there, famous mainly for it's funny name :
Nacktarsch means n@cked @ss and there is also a little story on the bottles, so you will know, where this funny name came from.

What to buy: This wine makes certainly a great souvenir for people who are able to understand german !!

Some more infos and pics are on my Kroev-page !

For your shopping of casual wear and hikinging-equipments there is a shop, close to St.Michael church, with a name, easy to remember.
VT-member Annathrax made it only to the Rhine, but unfortunately not to the Mosel, although in Bernkastel they have a BANANA-shop since more than 20 years already.

What to buy: hiking equipment and more

In this shop, just a few meters from the church St.Michael you may get a big variety of fancy bottles to store your wine, brandy or liquor.

What to buy: Just click on my picture in order to see these unique bottles.
You may choose your favorite bottle and have it filled with one of their liquors.

What to pay: NOT a really cheap place :-((

The vinothek is in the historical cellars of the St. Nicolaus hospital in Kues. You can go there and just visit or you can taste lots of wines.
It is open in summer from 10 am to 5 pm, in winter from 2pm to 5 pm

I was surprised to find all the shops in the centre open at easter. i was told, that in the summer months most of the shops are open all week.

What to buy: Bernkastel is well known because of some excellent wines. So go there, taste the wine and if you like it, buy it!

    Wine everywhere
