Kirner Pils.

Favorite thing: Let’s make no secret of it. We both like a nice cold glass of beer. Being abroad is always a challenge to find a beer we like, which reflects our taste of having a beer. In Germany it was sometimes rather difficult. We found out that there are quite some local beers, only known in that particular area. But anyway, we did like the Kirner Pils.

The history of the Kirner family dates back to the 15th century. The first link to a brewery is made in the 17th century when they opened the doors in the little village of Kirn. The beer became rather popular and ever since 1798 it´s even available on a large scale. Just try it, it´s good!

Wild pig on wall (right)

Favorite thing: The pig on wall when was alive is 200kgs weight. Wild pigs are still common in German countryside. Drivers have to be always careful or their cars and pigs the both destroyed. To look for food wild pigs come to human living area in winter frequently. They eat trash as well.

Dutch Music Group

Favorite thing: In Beilsten we saw already Dutch Music group. To me a big surprise that I could see them play music in Cochem. They wore colorful and played funny music which I never heard before, but Mimi could tell it's Dutch.

They played music walking in a line and then stopped at a pub. The pub displayed German, Dutch and EU flags on door. People came to appreciate their performance in a circle. It's friendship between Germany and Netherlands.

Chair

Favorite thing: The chair with 3 feet was well-designed for strong sleepers. It's so firm and that one won't fall.
