Every year in the middle of August this village organises the biggest wine festival in the area, that lasts for four days. Really interesting to see, and you can drink lots of quality wine without spending too much money.
This is a family-run (for 4 generations), Hotel-Restaurant (28 beds), at a cross-road on our drive from Saarbruecken to LEIWEN. We stopped there the very first day for lunch (Friday) driving to our timeshare, and enjoyed it so much that we returned twice during the week. The next time we went was on Saturday night with our friends from Heidelberg and they loved it too and said you don't get this kind of place so much any more.......so we considered it a real find.
There is a stream running next to the property and they have a good-size outdoor eating area when weather permits.
We let the owner/server select some local wines for us and they were all superb!
Favorite Dish: On the Saturday night we had the FRESH, WHOLE TROUT ALMANDINE, which was so good that we ordered it again later in the week when we went for the 3rd time!
