    as I said best Bakery in the Village a good cup of coffee, ein Bienenstich Kuchen.....Bee Sting Cake, cake filled with custardcream, the top has almonds/caramel is just devine.or a baked Cheesecake, the american friends call ..NYC style cheesecakebut we never made it any other way, might have reached NYC and had success there ^..^

    car comes always handy, and you will encounter an unsual numberplate
    MYK for Mayen - Koblenz Region
    but a good public transport from Andernach is running very well. just outside the Main Railwaystation there, on the hour every hour

    in the early 70's Nickenich started, like so many other Villages, Towns and Cities in Germany, friendship and cultural exchange with french Towns. the horrors of 2 Worl Wars, made people think I believe, that there must be a better way to live in harmony and respect with and for each other.Nickenich Sister City is Montfort L'Amaury..just 40km west...

    just 20km northwest of Nickenich, Mayen is a little gem in the Eifel Region. the area has a lot to offer...biking, hiking or just having a good meal. shopping is quite good, the Pedestrian Mall free of car noise and interuption. Schloss ( Castle ) Buerresheim just outside of Mayen. take the trip through the lovely Eifel, you wont regret it
