    Schissergaesschen

I could not help but notice this little alley leading off Heerstrasse. Any good student of the German language learned the word, schisser....hahaha. As I was looking upon it with amusement, and giggling, a man approached me to explain. Long, long times ago, men would use this alley as a WC on their way home from a night out drinking.
Just as funny, if you enjoy scatalogical humor: the boat pilots of the Rhein would sit along the wall bank on the Rhein and do their 'business'. They were called, Rampenschisser.

Ferry from St. Goarshausen heading to St. Goar

The ferry that operates between St. Goarshausen and St. Goar is the oldest family run ferry in Germany. Six generations have run the business since it started in 1794.
