Luggage and bags: We found the best thing for us was a large purse with a zipper top for my wife and I carried a mid-sized backpack with plety of compartments. We had plenty of room for souveneirs and everything else we could carry back with us
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: As always when wandering through Europe, wear comfortable, breathable shoes that have good support, and in Germany, ALWAYS bring a rain jacket that can be easily shoved into your day bag as the weather is very unpredictable at best.
Photo Equipment: We used a Kodak Z760 for all of our "souvenir" pictures, it's small, light, portable, and does video also. Whatever camera you have that can be easily carried would work great also
