 Cafe Zur Steipe by mustertal
Someone was sat using their computer as this is a wi fi "hot spot" so is the whole of the square. The cafe also has a Toy museum which was closed, so remember, Monday the museum is closed.
I had coffee and Cheese cake, my other half had chocolate cake, and they were absolutely delicious. They had a great choice of Kuchen and other dishes, the service and standard seemed very high a nice experience. Nice buffett with a nice selection of breakfast & brunch/bread, it's particulary nice having breakfast at the outdoor's area of "Hauptmann's" (if the weather does its part ok). More mediterranean than Italian, this was some of the best pub grub I've eaten in Germany, or possibly anywhere. The food was top notch, the pasta was perfectly al dente and the aromatic pesto just sang through the beer. All I wanted was a simple dish, and I think it says a lot that they could make something so simple taste so good.
The location is also excellent, on the busy Glockenstrasse, in the center near the Ponta Nigra. You can sit in the snug at the back by the bar, or at the front near the large bay windows and people watch. Milk coffee is very creamy and there for very yummy,
and this place is nicely right beside the "Porta Nigra" ("Black Gate") what

If you are like us, who love to eat and run, this is the place to be. The setting is informal, the food is served so quickly and you get to choose your favorite pasta and sauce. The staff are friendly too.
I ordered spaghetti with mushroom sauce. It was delicious, but my son's choice was even better. He ordered penne with tomato sauce. The tomato sauce was really delicious. The taste was clean, and the topping of parsely was crunchy!
There are two servings availabe: The normal size and the small size. We are small eaters, so, we chose the small size. It costed us €3.00 per small plate, which was really not small at all. See the pictures. The softdrink costed €1.50 per glass.
To order, you must go to the counter, place your order, choose your kind of pasta and sauce, wait for thirty seconds et voila! your meal is served! Simple and fast! Burger King is located just outside the main train station of Trier. An easy find after five hours of sitting on the train.
I love their salads. The fries taste good and the price is reasonable too.
