Opposite the beautiful city centre, on the other side of river Elbe, Dresden's new centre (Neustadt) can be found. It mostly consists of houses built in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Dresden Neustadt is famous for its buzzing nightlife and young population. It's a good place to hang out after a long day in the old town.
KunsthofPassage is a small 'neighborhood' (well not really but I don't know how to define it) hidden in a not-so-magnificient part of Dresden. You walk there and suddenly on your side it appears.
There are bars, restaurant and shops inside but the main point is related to the architectural structure.
You canc check the related travelogue to get some views.

The statue (called the "Golden Horseman") of Augustus the Strong, Elector Duke of Saxony and King of Poland, dominates the square between Augustus bridge and Hauptstrasse.
It was made by J. J. Vinache 1732 - 34 and shows Augustus as a Caesar.

Hip and cool - the neustadt was the location of our case study site - a hotel/cafe to be build at the former Pfund Molkeri (spelling is probably wrong).
I enjoyed the Children's Zoo across from Kunsthofpassage. The area is for children from the city to learn about animals. It is built by the children so so have kind of a lord of the flies feeling to it. I especially enjoyed the stuffed animal totem - where once loved stuffed animals are placed.
On the other side of the bridge
On the other side of the bridge you will find a completely different part of Dresden. Where the altstadt is old, classy and historic, the new part is fashionable, vibrant and young.
the Neustadt (new town)
the Neustadt (new town) isn't all that new!!!
This part of Dresden has some nice architecture as well, but also many pubs and a lot of atmosphere...
Mayn good restaurants are situated here. It´s not so touristic as the Altstadt and it has its special flair, check it out!
