Heidelberg Things to Do
This is a gorgeous castle and you can't miss it, it's literally at the top of town. You should wear good walking shoes. In the summer nights Shakespeare productions are performed in the inner part of the court-yard. The views are wonderful and it also houses the Apothekary museum, however, cameras aren't allowes inside, but it is very interesting. Part of the main castle tower was destroyed in the late 1500's by cannon fire, and the toppled part remains there to this day, which is also very interesting to see. Kids will love it too!
The castle cafe has a great selection of bratwursts, schnitzels, sodas, and of course, fries!

Heidelberg Local Customs
During Christmas, Germany is full of gluhwein stands, especially throughout the many Christmas markets. It's a heated red wine, combined with a mixture of spices. Though it may take some getting used to, it's perfect for warming up and feeling cheery with friends!Related to:
