New Leipzig Trade Fair, Leipzig
Leipzig was once renowned for its trade fairs, and these were so important to the economy of the region that not even the communist East German government could bring itself to shut them down. Since reunification the Leipzig Trade Fair (Messe) has been reborn with a magnificent modern exhibition center, which hosts some of the biggest and most prestigious trade fairs in Europe.
The origins of world's oldest Trade Fair go back to 1268. But even before merchants met on the intersection of the roads "Via Regia" and "Via ImperiI" which still exist partly. Today, the new trade fair consists of six giant halls were you can see sportevents, concerts and of course exhibits.
My favorite fairs: AMI (Auto Mobile International) and Touristik & Caravaning.
