At the „Kletterwald Pöhl“, close to Plauen, you can show how fit you are. You can climb through the wood on ropes ad boards – nothing for you if you do not have a good head for heights. They offer four different levels: “Spaß” (fun) for warming-up and children, one to two metres above the ground. “Fitness” is two to four metres high and a kind of “entrance fee” for the more difficult levels. “Abenteuer” (adventure) is four to six metres high, for “Risiko” (risk) you need to be fit for climbing up to ten metres on ropes.
Of course you should wear good shoes and casual clothes. At the weekends there’s a lot of “traffic” there, so you better got there in the week. Europeedway Lausitz
by Antji
Eurospeedway or Lausitzring (both names are used) is 50 km north of Dresden near from the city Senftenberg and Schipkau. This aera is called Lausitz. It´ s directly on the Highway A 13 in direction of Berlin. But it´s not a part of saxonia - is few kilometer behind the border "Land Brandenburg". You have to leave the Highway at Klettwitz. The Opening was in August 2000. It´s a racetrack and testing area of 357 ha. There are a lot´s of events - not only races. So sometimes there are concerts of bands or is Nightskating. I never tried Inlineskating there before - but it must be fun and I should try it. But sometimes I work in the Vip Lounge during races and it´s nice to meet some important people.;)If you wanna know more take a look at www.eurospeedway.de
hiking is a great sport!
by richiecdisc
You can't beat hiking as a way to see more of the nature that Saxony is so abundantly blessed with. Both the Elbsandsteingebirge and Erzgebirge offer great hiking trails so enjoy them for a nice workout and way to fight off exta weight associated with travel. Besides, you just see more that way too.
Good sturdy boots and raingear are essential. And never forget your hat! ;)
