The windmill of Gohlis (Gohliser Windmühle) is converted into a Kaffee & Biergarten.
The mill is situated along the Elbe river bicycle path (Europäischen Elberadwanderweg) and is an ideal stop to relax and view the landscape.
The history of the mill goes back to 1570. The present mill is the third one at this location and was constructed from 1828 to 1832.
After World War II the mill became a Youth hostel till 1951; thereafter it was reconstructed as a mill and museum. Unfortunately due to lack of supervision the building decayed again. After several changes of ownership since 2003 the mill is in use as Biergarten and was restored in 2006 and 2007.
