Visit any of the numerous festivals in the evening. On a sunny day, rent a rowboat and and take a leisurely ride around part of the old city wall. Afterwards, enjoy a Hasenbraeu dunkles at the small cafe near the boat rental.
Augsburg is small enough to walk around, fantastic historically, and still offers all the amenities of a large city. It's absolutely beautiful.

Favorite thing: See as much of the city as possible. And enjoy the outdoor Cafes.

Favorite thing: Talk a walking tour of the city, especially the Fuggerei. Spend some time inside the Dom.
Fondest memory: Visiting friends in Lechhausen and attending the many festivals that always seem to going on in Augsburg in the summer.

Augsburg - approximately 50 miles from Munich is really worth visiting ... with it´s affinity to the Fugger dynasty, the famous trader´s family and it´s ancient town center
This is a wonderful city with a small town feel. Some of the most relaxing days of my life were spent in Augsburg.
Great city! Lived in Augsburg for 3 years while in the military and it was by far my most enjoyable assignment.
