Laboe Transportation

We decided to take a ferry ride from Kiel to Laboe. There are lots of people who commute to
and fro Laboe. For us it was to see the Naval Memorial.

You should look up the timetable for the ferry ride. As our hotel is near the Schlossgarten we could cathc the ferry from Seegarten pier. Otherwise most tourist could catch it from the first stop at Bahnhof. You can get the timetable from the Tourist Information centre

It was a pleasant day to start with. Our ferry arrived punctutally at 10:45 am, and it would take about an hour to reach. There were many stops picking up and letting passengers down, and the view of Kiel on bothsides were scenic. You travel for much of the early part of the ride along the Kielline before you move to the otherside of Kiel.

It is best to first walk along the beach area and then on your way back to the ferry pier walk in the inside and you can peep into houses, and their lovely gardens.

The roads here are also made for cyclist

The nearest rail station is Kiel, the bus station is next door. Take bus # 100 or #101, the journey is around 1/2 hour.
