Links the Baltic to the North sea and allows very large ships through. Took a walk along the side just before dark - forgot my camara though.

The journey into town is awesome by rail from the south. To allow large ships to pass under the railway some height is needed, then the station is just a few hundred yards from the bridge. Solution? Gradually decrease height running around the town, almost a fairground ride. we enjoyed it anyway.

Cafe just outside the station, we were a little early to go to our hotel so lunch was called for! Very tasty home made food and popular too. Mrs Bonio enjoyed freshly prepared salad, frikadeel for me - excellent.

Owned by the Deutsche Eiche hotel family. As the name suggests food is from the Adriatic region. A favourite of mine. Unable to resist the grillteller (mixed grill) perfectly cooked and very tasty. Good spicy ajvar to go with it. Mrs Bonio very happy with vegetarian choices. All at a good price too. Highly recommended.
