  • Café und Restaurant am Kurpark

I visited this café in the afternoon and sat on the outdoor terrace. Therefore I don't know what kind of food they serve as I only saw the machine typed menu for ice cream. As Tabarz seems to be a more quiet place the people coming to the café were either elderly or families. I opted for an ice chocolate which was yummy and a glas of mineral water....

  • Thuringian dumplings

It's another special food of our region. To "create" them needs knowledge. Made out of potatoes. Grated poor potatoes and cooked mashed potatoes together in a special mix. Also important which time you can mix both. Then you can form the dumplings and do inside boiling water. Only light boiling! Really special, but delicious. In former times that...

It is always fun, connected...

Tabarz Warnings and Dangers

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I wonder that such a tourism center (or if it want be) has so bad streets in the town. Like every town in Germany it has debts, of course. But why done so few?
Please drive slowly inside, and think for the complicated rules of traffic if you reach the main place. Often I´m thinking that our official persons in charge have fun to change that time by time and make it harder then before.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You need sturdy shoes and weather gear in summer, also a backpack. The town has a mild climate, but in the mountains and forests the weather often changes or it is considerably chill.

Miscellaneous: PS: This picture is not made by myself, but it had no copyright.
