    Erfurt Things to Do

While I'm usually not much of an art buff, this museum is something that I really enjoyed in Erfurt. Forum Konkrete Kunst is actually only the part of the museum, the museum itself is former Peterskirche on Petersberg citadel. Looking like a run-down barn from the outside, the similarly run-down interior is used for exhibitions of all kinds....

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Highlight of the church interior is the organ, built in 1722 by Tobias Heinrich Gottfried Trost. It dominates the church and is known to be the most important and largest organ from the time of JS Bach in Thüringen. Trost was known to be the most important innovator and avant-garde organ builder, as well as the most important Thüringer organ builder in the time of JS Bach. About 70% of the pipe-work is original.

The church is open free of charge, every day from 10-12 and 14-16 hrs.
    For tours, contact waltershausen@suptur.de

If you want the opportunity to play the organ, do phone before you visit to make an appointment.
