Located next to the Goethehouse, in the Stadtzentrum, its a nice place to hang out. The menu selection is quite nice and the pizzas are almost as good as the ones in Italy.
Favorite Dish: The best espresso in Weimar.

They have great turkish dishes in an absolutely great surrounding. They have a great terrace for sitting outside, too.
You can smoke Shisha in here and smoking is allowed in almost the whole restaurant. For non-smokings there is a cute seperate space.
In the evenings the restaurant is full so if you want to have dinner here I suggest to make a reservation.
Favorite Dish: Meze Tabaklari - a variation of turkish starters. This dish is large so you don´t even need a main course.
Great taste-interesting flavours.

Restaurant next to the Jakobskirche ( church) with cemetry where Goethes wife Christiane, born Vulpius, is buried.
There is also a large playground beside and they have a beergarden, too.
They serve everything you can imagine containing potatoes. Absolutely great.

Its choice of food is changing, but it's always fresh and healthy. Unless other German types of food it is always prepared with less salt and fat. The location of the restaurant is ideal for city travellers, on the short walk from market square to the castle it is just in front of the latter. Although a prominent address it is slightly hidden behind large trees, thus giving it a rather insider feeling in comparison to the neighbouring Café Residenz. Due to its more than reasonable prices and choices for people with only a little hunger it is popular with the local students.
Apart from being a mere restaurant it also provides galery spaces with changing exhibitions and bed & breakfast in the adjacent building.
For people interested in history, Johann Wolgang Goethe was living in this house from 1776-1777.

Located conveniently just around the corner from the market square, this place was our rescue... after a long and exhausting day in Weimar, we all were hungry and in the mood for pizza. Here we found it!
The food was good, but the service was sometimes a little unattentive (e.g. we didn't get any menus and half of the cutlery was missing). Prices are quite low.
Favorite Dish: I liked my pizza

This restaurant calls itself an Italian ice cream place, but on their menu they offer much
more. They have a large selection of cakes and waffles. We ordered some waffles, thinking it would be a small snack. When they were brought to our table, we realized this was no small in-between meal, but a full lunch.
You can choose among various toppings. My daughter had the applesauce and I ordered a waffle sandwich. It was filled with a light "quark" - a sort of yoghurt -, plus whipped cream on the side and vanilla ice cream. Fantastic. A good coffee to go with it and we had a wonderful rest, sitting outside and watching people go by.
Around noon, when we arrived, we could choose our table, but it soon got very busy. It seems to be a very popular place.

We had a very good beer at this 'Weltmeisterschaf Freies Zone' - also important: a local brewery. We tasted the 'Pils' and the dark beer. Both were very tasty and refreshing. The dark beer had a complex taste with distinct chocolate flavours. The pilsner type was a more easy drink, but with a lot of 'depth'. Prices were very reasonable: 2 euro's for halve a liter.
Favorite Dish: Beer.
