For me one of the best cities for nightlife in Germany is Cologne. There are some streets full of pubs and bars. Try the Ring, Zülpicher Strasse or Friesenstrasse if you look for nightlife! Or have a look at my cologne page for more details.
For me the Hofbrauhaus Sounded pretty cool as it was always mentioned on the 1960's television show "Hogans Heroes". So I had to check it out!! I ended up there on New Years Eve! I didn't run into Colonel Hogan but I had a Blast!!
Sometimes known as 'the longest bar in the world' Dusseldorf's Altstadt - the Old Town - contains some 200 bars, cafés and restaurants. Despite its relatively small size (just a few blocks), the crowds flock here at the weekend, filling most of the bars to bursting point. And when closing time looms, young revellers can continue partying until the early hours in one of the nearby clubs. But the Altstadt isn't just for night owls. Row upon row of atmospheric old town houses have been converted into shops and boutiques offering all a consumer could possibly wish for. No Dress Code.
It's important not to drink so much as to forget your way back to your hotel (or whatever). We were lucky and MET someone from our hotel, (good thing we had a few happy hour drinks at the hotel first), who led us back. Otherwise, we might still be there, wandering.....wondering.... please do
hofbrau house is a must. within a not too long walking distance from the main train station. people are sometimes in traditional german dress, playing loud trad. german music, you eat pretzels and drink HUGE and i mean HUGE stiens of beer! great atmosphere and is family-friendly also.
There are some places to go out in Tirschenreuth (8km away). But if you come to Ploessberg, you should enjoy the nature. The bars and clubs in Tirschenreuth are not worth coming to that laid back place of Germany.absolutely none!!! Farmers go there after their work...
Its hard to find cool places in the inner city, there used to be a place called 'kunstpark Ost' but dont know if its still there. I think it was replaced. Just check it out.Many bars nect to each other and for every taste the right bar or club. Be yourself!

We went to LIVING'S and COOKIES. Of the two I definatly recommend LIVING's.The music was a real mix and we had a top night out partying the night away until five in the morning.We didn't arrive until gone midnight yet the entrance fee was still a mere DEM10.00 Smart/Casual
There are discos, discos, discos everywhere! throughout the whole country! I can't make any credible generalizations except that I find the music on average to be superior to what you find in the typical US club. In places like Berlin and Hamburg they're constantly flying good DJ's in. The goa party scene is very established here, and the festivals and whatnot are very wild. I still don't entirely understand the German dancing thing yet--in fact, I'd say that the dancing can be (what's a nice way to say it) pretty stiff and self conscious--but people get really enthusiastic about it after they get really drunk, which rocks!
