Well, maybe not to die for, but at least to forget all about the million calories éclairs have.
We had been told about a very good bakery, somewhere between Grossrosseln and Petite-Rosselle. This somewhere consists of a bridge, maybe 20 meters long. No bakery on this bridge, so we walked on into Petite-Rosselle. And sure enough, just after the first corner we found it, no ordinary bakery, but a cake/pastry/chocolate shop all in one.
Even though it was late Saturday afternoon it was still open (quite a change from the deserted city of Völklingen) and they were really busy.
I was happy to see the most mouthwatering éclairs and bought a few. I started ordering in French, but the saleslady had heard me talking to my husband in German and answered in German. All the employees in the shop switched from French to German and back with great ease.
The éclairs were just as good as they looked. I don't remember how much they were, 1,50 or 2 Euro, no more.

I was a steel worker from 1977 - 80 so this was a great day out for me, a visit to the UNESCO Völklinger Hütte, a preserved iron making plant. Lots more on things to do tips.

LIttle town with great treasures
Walking along this little town was pretty nice even if the weather was crazy. Time to time I think that this picture is a trick that came out of that :)
