Markets

by nepalgoods

You can find markets everywhere in Germany. But they are mainly held only on one day per week. On the markets you can get an impression, which vegetables and fruits are grown in Germany. But they sell alos, exotic fruits and sometimes local handicraft. For the days and times of the local market ask the tourist informations.

Kardstadt, Kaufhof.: Department Stores

by milugares

Karsdtadt and Kaufhof are 2 chains of department stores which you can find in almost every medium or medium-small town.To compare it with Spain: the german version of "El Corte Ingles". Usual stuff for this kind of shops: clothes, books, electronic, music, parfums, photographie...plus supermarket with relativ good choice and prices.Restaurant and/or food-delicattessen galerie are also quite useful. Average.Maybe Karstadt is slightly cheaper.

Frankfurt

by keeweechic

Kaiserstrasse and Goethestrasse are the best shopping streets, despite the handful of hole-in-the-wall tourist traps filled with junk souvenirs. Most department stores are located on Rossmarkt and Zeil which stretches east from the Haptwache. This particular area is known as the Golden Mile and it boasts the largest retail turnover of any shopping district in Germany. The Romer square is also a lively spot.

Asbach Uralt: Asbach Uralt

by Gili_S

Asbach Uralt is a kind of a German brandy, it is not the cheapest drink, but not expensive either. You can drink it straight, but you can mix it as well.It should be available in supermarkets and selected stores. For more details check the official site. I think 75 cl. was about 12-14 €
