Never drink adn drive, cause the Germans are really strict about that and unlike in America they control it a lot! It's really easy to get a really high fine!

Sure you've got your Eurail Pass but, be warned, on some trains (like the overnight one I caught from Frankfurt to Salzburg) there was an extra charge because it was run by an independent company.
GLOCKENSPIEL- you stand around, in the baking sun, or windy weather, with tons of people around you, watching your purse, and then for 10 seconds, figurines twirl about-don't go.
Steer clear of Frankfurt, while it is a pretty city, it is still a banking centre, and does not have much to offer in the way of nightlife, at least none that we could find.
