Casino by bugalugs I didnt visit the casino, but it has black jack, roulette and bingo each night at 9pm. The gaming tables as I said open in the evening but the slot machines are open at noon.

Cafe Cyberworld by bugalugs One way to spend a bit of time is to catch up on vt with a visit to Cafe Cyberworld. Its a bar and a cafe and internet access as well. Very relaxed and friendly place. Drinks were not too expensive but the internet rate I thought was. 30 minutes is £2.50 1 hour is £4.50 Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: 14-16 Ocean HeightsPhone: 350 51416Directions: It wasnt a very easy place to find, but if you head from Casemates Square up Main Street, right into Cooperage Lane, right into Fish Market Road, Ocean Heights it just along there.Website: %FC%S4%CV%B%Mwww.gibnet.gi-cybercaf/ Other Contact: email cybercaf@gibnet.gi

The Little Rock by sugarpuff This is one fo the bars and restaurants on the Casemates Square strip. Its fairly roomy with a good menu. A little expensive for the kind of place that it is, but it does different food to the rest of the bars along that way. It has always a been a rival to The Tunnel where I used to work, so ive only been in there for other peope's parties. I always go to The Tunnel! Excuse the photos I have taken but they were all taken on New Year's Eve / morning...it was dark, it was late and apparently I cant really use my camera very well!!!

Craziness at Casemates by sugarpuff Gibraltar has a perfectly beautiful main square where you can people watch, have a drink, a bite to eat, and do a bit of shopping. Its beautiful in the summer where you can sit outside at one of the many cafes drinking your sangria whilst getting a tan! Pure bliss! But at New Year, instead of following in the footsteps of those in Madrid, or in Edinburgh where they make full use of their squares to attract people for the New Year countdown, Gibraltar does nothing for its people. This could of course be down to the fact that Gibraltarians are mainly Catholic so they do tend to do a lot of things with their families. For example, they will get together around 9pm and spend the rest of the night eating and drinking and then after midnight, they'll head off into town to see their friends. It was however totally different this year! I was invited round to a friend's house for the usual get together at around 10pm. We did the drinks and the eating business, and then just before midnight, we switched on the tv..usually I'll have you know, we switch onto Madrid as the atmosphere there in the main square is awesome, but this time I was surprised to see them tuning into our very own Gibraltar TV station(where I used to read the news!). I was shocked to see the amount of people down at Casemates Square all gearing themselves up for the New Year bells! Due to Gibraltar being British for 300 years this year, they had celebrations throughout the year and having a live band (getting back to the tip Im supposed to be writing about!)was just one of the numerous things they decided to do! So of course the square was jam packed! It was 'mucho' fun!
No special requirements for dress, as it is out in the open and any of the bars surrounding the Square are perfectly happy to have you come in dressed as you like...even if you do look like a 'chav'! Note to oneself....must write the meaning of 'chav' for those non 'British amongst us! Leave a Comment Theme: ConcertDirections: Casemates Square. At the bottom of Main Street.

Inside 'The Tunnel' on a Friday evening! by sugarpuff If you have read the Restaurant section, you will already be familiar with Casemates Square. Out of the stretch of bars and restaurants around here, I suggest you go to 'The Tunnel'. Ok, I may be slightly biased because I worked there for a year, but it really is the liveliest of all the bars and is open during the summer until about 5am! During the winter months they have a live band and karaoke mid-week. Next to 'The Tunnel' is a bar called 'Latinos'..if you fancy dancing on the tables to a bit of salsa music, this is your best bet! Next to 'Latinos' is 'Lord Nelson' which, although slightly more expensive for food and not as good for partying in the evening, does have a live band every Sunday I believe. This could change of course according to their plans. At the other end of the row of bars, are 'All's Well' and 'The Little Rock'. The latter tends to be the first to close at the weekends followed by 'All's Well'. Both have karaoke mid-week. Once you've had enough of dancing on the tables or the bar tops, head off to one of Gibraltar's few nightclubs. To be honest they can't even be called that! They're bars with dance floors! There's 'Cool Blues' which I believe has recently changed its age level from over 18s to 14-17 year olds, so this is a place for the younger crowd to hang out. This is at the other end of Main Street nearer the cable car to go up the Rock. The other two places to go are 'Sax 2' and 'The Underground', the latter being the more seedy of the two! They are both just off Casemates Square, so easy to stagger to from one of the bars!
I dont believe there is a dress code for any of the places, but best not to wear trainers just in case! Rules may have been changed since I was there. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: Casemates Square

The Tunnel when empty by africaking If you to go out in Gibraltar, there are a few nice places to go, Firstly, theres the Tunnel, in casemates square (plugging a little business as I used to work there) it is a restaurant/bar/club, during the day and early evening it runs as a restaurant and bar with a large outside seating area, at night mainly on the weekends it turns into a bar/club playing the latest loud tunes where you can dance to. This all finishes at about 3am to 4am depending. If you are not drunk yet, you can always head off to the local night clubs, two of them (the only ones worth mentioning) are located just off casemates square, Sax II and the Underground(underground open till about 6am), the latter being a dingy little hole, but with an outside area and pool tables, entrance to both I think is about £3.00(I never paid as I worked in casemates square)
No set dress codes are required for most places, although the underground does have a dress code on the door, which states, you must wear black shoes and smart atire, of course no one pays attention to this and people wear anything they want. Casemates Square is a must do on Friday evenings. There are a number of bar restaurants where you can get a great meal, enjoy it at your leisure and just wait for them to convert over to a nightclub.

A little off the beaten track, the Matchbox is a small, friendly little place. The best thing here is the company, everybody knows everybody, and newcomers are welcomed like the regulars.

Rock Hotel by freya_heaven We didnt sample the nightlife in Gibraltar, with having out 18 month old daughter in tow. But there were so many bars and restaurants throughout Gibraltar. Also there are plenty of British service men and women, I am sure it can get pretty lively there. If you fancy your chances there is a Casino in the Rock Hotel, Smart Dress only. Most of Gibraltar is pretty quiet by night. The only place with any atmosphere was at the far end of the high street near the Queens Hotel called the Trafalgar, (a sports bar) Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and Drinking
