Rock Cafe (Maybe?): Morrocan Views

by freya_heaven

The cafe itself is very medioca, But the big selling point is obviously its location. Right on the top of the Gibraltar Rock.Wonderful Views over Gibraltar, Spain and Morocco. They have a very good marketing ploy up there, Any post you send from their own post box is stamped with a special stamp to say it was posted from the top of the rock. They sell the postcards, pens and stamps..............so you then sit down and pay quite a lot for a not very impressive hot chocolate to wite your postcards.Unfortunately all the ones I sent, the stamp was so smudged it was illegible anyway. Nevermind

Take your Pick: Marina Views

by Geoff_Wright

I don't recall the names of the restaurants, but the best that I remember are down by the marina complex. This is a really nice place to go; browse, sit, drink and eat a really good meal, and just look at all that money floating in the marina!! If only.

Various: The full monty experience

by sourbugger

The Full Monty British Breakfast is something that needs experiencing. If you are not British (or a colonial) then Colonel Blimp tells you to get a good hearty breakfast, full of colesterol that will keep you going all day - that's the way we gained an empire ! You need to go for the full monty - or whatever it's called in the restaurant you go for.It should include at the least:Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, fried bread, baked beans, mushroom & Black pudding. This should be seved with toast and good strong tea - enjoy !

Star bar: Mixed grill a must

by rob-craig

This is claimed to be the oldest bar in GIB,how true it is I dont really know .We sat outside and ate on a day that wasnt really that warm ,but in this place there is a melee of activity that we just had to take in I had a mixed grill with sausage, bacon, chicken, lamb, mushrooms, salad etc and washed down with a pint of lager which was not that good but the grill was superb. They had special childrens meals which included a drink and an icecream for only £1.99...£1.90 a pint and £8.95 for the mixed grill

The Little Mermaid: Great Food - Great Wines

by guslinares

Great Food and Wines located at the waters edge at the Marina. Very good service. Try a bottle of special reserve Spanish red wine they store in their cellars. Ask for he price as they tend to be expensive - but well worth the expense. Pargo a la Sal - Grilled Sea Bass with Salt

The only other options for dining that are worth mentioning (unless you want fish and chips, in which case you will be spoilt for choice!), are the waterfront bars and restaurants at Queensway Quay. The best of these is Claus, followed by The Waterfront.

by bushdoctor

La Bayuca - also a favourite with Price Charles and Price Andrew...Johnnie and Tita are extremely friendly and will gladly tell you about the history of Gibraltar. The restaurant is one of the oldest on the rock, and used to be popular with naval officers until the British Navy stopped visiting Gib in the 1990's. The food is good for Gibraltar, but not outstanding. But it is about the only place with character and is worth going to. The Chicken Bayuca is good - quite like a chicken tagine, that you would expect in Morocco.

There are a lot of restaurants on the main street which is located at the bottom of the rock. Be sure that you have some British pounds on you or you will end up paying a lot more by using your pesetas!

Jimmies bar: Jimmies bar

by albertkipper

Cheap and cheerfull with good atmosphere. Two hours of eating and drinking cost £8 per head everybody helps with the serving as there are no waiters, it works! Very busy early evening You could not say, as you sit down and order drinks all sorts of food keeps appearing at your table.
