Gourmet dining or pub grub

by CliffClaven

Gourmet dining - while it may presumably be had at a price - is not what most visitors come to Gibraltar for. Steak pie and chips and a pint are more likely to comprise the lunch menu for all those British tourists down from the Costa for the day and desperately missing the proletarian cuisine of home. Go with the flow: duck into a pub and enjoy the beer, the food (good luck!) and the conversation around you.

RestaurantsDine in style in elegant surroundings while enjoying the versatile range of dishes. There are restaurants which specialise in international cuisine, whilst there are others which specialise in Chinese, Danish, English, French, Italian, Masai or Indian... Why not sample them in turn? You might be surprised at the quality and service which you get! * = Takeaway Service Available Bunter's RestaurantMichelin RecommendedCollege Lane Tel: 70482 Mermaid Bar RestaurantCatalan Bay Tel: 41067 Caleta Palace HotelKemmels Restaurant Tel: 76501 Meson La Bodega23 Cornwall's Lane Tel: 74343 Da PaoloThe Tower, Admiral's WalkMarina Bay Tel: 76799 Mini-Moroccan Restaurant40 Turnbull's Lane Tel: 70859 El Patio Restaurant54 Irish Town Tel: 70822 Palm Court Restaurantat the Eliott HotelEliott Hotel Tel: 70500 Gatsby's Eating House1, 2 & 3 Watergardens Tel: 76291 Picasso's22a Main Street Tel: 51551...

No favorites. While...

by Krystynn

No favorites. While traveling to a foreign country (like, Gibraltar), make sure you try the local foods - and please do not compare everything to home (prices, quality etc.) because you are not home. While some food may taste kinda odd to you, try them and appreciate them, O.K.? Sample these local fares at their local cafes and remember to be nice, friendly and courteous. We really wouldn't want these foreigners to think that we VT members are rude and obnoxious in real life, do we? :-)

The more spanish the restaurant..the better the food...calamaris, seafood etc.At catalan bay they used to serve great swordfish.

A decent place to eat your lunch with a friendly staff. Seems like a clean average place if you're hungry. The baked potatoe with cheese and mushrooms
