Go up the rock and see the apes. They really are one of the main attractions of Gibraltar.
They are fun to watch but be careful they are crafty and can bit as well. We saw one steal a coat from an open car window while the people were taking photos. In no time that coat had disappeared.

The 'apes' are really tail-less monkeys found wild in Morocco and Algeria, with the ones on the Rock being the only free-ranging ones in Europe. At the Apes' Den (Queen's Gate) or around the Great Siege Tunnels you have the opportunity of seeing these fascinating monkeys at close quarters.

See the skanky monkeys and try not to get bitten!
They're unique 'cause they shouldn't be there. It's astonishing the amount of tourists that aware of the monkeys, but not the caves! I know which I found more interesting.

Up to the top of course!!!
You can walk up amd enjoy the fantastic views, Taxis will take you up there as well, but I believe they are quite expensive.
The views and of course the monkeys which are very cheeky!

These monkeys are the only ones you'll see living in the free in Europe, no wonder they are so famous! There's by the way a tale saying that the day they leave Gibraltar is the day that this little peninsula will become Spanish.

Well, what's the point about going to Gibraltar and not seeing the Rock. While we can't say it's got everything, it does have 2 really important things: absolutely breathtaking views and the "apes" that will entertain you until the light runs out. Especially the youngsters.

As I mentioned in the introduction, these apes live on the edge of the Rock. Don't try this!
Seeing the barbary apes is one of the treats of Gibralter, but ther are a few things you should be careful about. Don't wear dangly, shiny jewelry -- they might get stolen. If you sit down, there's a possibility that an ape might hop upon you. It happened to me. Don't worry, they are harmless if not toilet trained.

Charming if cheaky apes are one of Gibs top tourist attractions, you can't go there and not go and watch them, the babies are so cute, but remember to keep an eye on your own children if you take them as they can be a little wilful.

When you get to the second and last stop of the cable car line, one of the first things you'll notice are these little buggers scurrying about. Climbing stairs, gnawing on assorted fruits, and most of all grooming - the barbary apes are the Upper Rock Nature Reserve's #1 attraction. The apes were even so kind as to let me slide in for a photo op...
