Favorite thing: In the village Langada there is the Church of Panagia Epanohoriani. Every year at 15 of August a big festival happens there. A lot of people brings some meals with meat and potatoes and all visitors can have their lunch there!!!

Favorite thing: The astonishing Monastery of Hozoviotissa -the pride of Amorgos- is remarkable and seems been pressed on the cliff 300 meters above the sea. The Monastery is the home of an icon of the Virgin from palestine. This remarkable Monastery was built in 1088 by mandate of the Byzantine Emperor Alexis Komninos.

Favorite thing: This 11th century white monastery clings to a cliff face above the east coast. You can visit a few rooms inside, and enjoy the view from up there.
Fondest memory: You can reach it from Katapola or Hora, by bus. The bus stop is 5 minutes from the gate, and from there you still have a ten minute climbing to the top.
Free entrance.

Favorite thing: Hora (the capital)is beautiful, very simple, very Cycladic with narrow streets and alleys, a row of windmills, empty of cars. There are not many tourist living in Hora.

Favorite thing: The view from the monastery of Hozoviotisa is excellent. At this place the known movie "The big Blue" had filmed.

Favorite thing: The monastery is located facing the endless sea. When you are up there, it's nice to be seat by a window while you recover from the climbing, and enjoy this beautiful landscape.

Favorite thing: The entrance of the monastery is a narrow stairs, from where you reach a room where some young monks offer you a glass of water (very welcome) sweet wine.
