The sun and me by SirRichard Most of the Greek Islands have a spot in the west from where you can see amazing sunsets. In Naxos this special place is the Gate of Apollo, the remains of an ancient Apollo Temple, in Pallatia Peninsula, 5 minutes walking from the capital. The trick here is to see the sun through the gate, of course. The full moon through the gate is another show you shouldn't miss if you have the chance to see it! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Evridiki in Nikea (Athens) by Lilasel Evridiki is a very popular singer in Greece and in spite of her "fragile" appearance she has a very strong voice! I had a chance to see her in live concert in Athens. Evridiki was born on the 25th of February. She grew up in Lefkosia in Cyprus and she started studying music from her very early years. She has a very nice, Greek, sensational and rare, name known to everybody from the myth of Orfeas and Euridiki (Orfeus and Eurydice). In 1992 she took part in the European song competition of Eurovision, on behalf of Cyprus, with the song "Tairiazoume" ("We Match"). Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

by Lilasel Alkistis Protopsalti is one of the most important artists in Greece. I love her voice and I had a chance to see her in Heraklion (Crete) on august,2003 for the great celebration of "One year before the Olympic Games". Her performance was wonderful and I still listen to my favourite song of her: "Trava Skandali" Leave a Comment

After your excursion to Aegina is over you come back to your cruise-ferry boat… The highlight of your cruise still waits for you in the evening! “Traditional Greek Folk Show” with singers and dancers in original costumes form all of Greece and the ever amusing show-man Jeannot will entertain and animate you up to the final moment as the ship docks in Piraeus. I enjoyed this show very much and 1,5 hours passed imperceptibly and we came back Piraeus at 20.00... You may watch my 7 min 53 sec VIDEO-Clip Traditional Greek Folk Show at Giorgis (Part I) or 9 min 34 sec VIDEO-Clip Traditional Greek Folk Show at Giorgis (Part II) from my YouTube channel. Mihalis in "Zigos" in Athens by Lilasel Mihalis Hatzigiannis is one of the most succesful young singer in Greece. He was born on 5/11/78. in Nicosia of Cyprus. He has a degree on classical guitar, piano and theoritican studies at the Musical Academy Of Cyprus (Royal College Of London). In 1998 he represented his country in the Eurovision contest by singing the song "Genesis" of which the music is his. It took the 11th place. On March 2001 Mihalis got the award for the Best First Appearing Artist for 2000. Thanks to my greek friend Giorgos I have almost all cds of Mihalis. I love his sweet voice and nice songs (even if I don't understand greek language rather good). I saw him in Zigos Music Center in Athens in 2003 and he was singing for Closing Ceremony of Athens Olympic Games in 2004. Now this nice greek man is my favourite greek singer! Galea was by far the best club I went to in Greece. It's really big, has 2 floors and a massive bar. The entrance is around 15 euros which gets you a drink and a great night in an amazing club. I went on the Thursday nights when they were playing R'n'B and it was completely packed. They didn't require reservations and were happy to allow people in with an entry fee. We would leave at around 5 and the place would still be packed and full of energy. The music was really good, the R'n'B nights I went to had Dj's brought in from the States and were really good. There's pleanty of parts of the club to explore and if you feel like relaxing a bit you can head upstairs to sit down (no reservation nesessary!) at one of the tables and enjoy some people-watching from the balcony. Really friendly staff, amazing interior and great music. What more could you ask for??!
Whatever really...normal clubbing kinda stuff! Theme: NightclubAddress: VoulaDirections: It's out of the main centre of Athens, normally giving the cab driver the name of the area and club will get you there.

by LisaJ87 Candy Bar is in the major clubbing area of Athens, Psirri. I went toward the beginning of my visit and it seemed to be one of the most popular in the area. It plays a mix of techno/R'n'B/pop so is quite a crowd pleaser and I've never seen the place any less than up to capacity. It's a pretty big place, and tables can be reserved in advance under the agreement that you're buying a bottle, around 110 Euros if my memory serves me correctly. For a 20 euro (max) costing bottle it's a major rip off but having a table for the night is nice and you get all the mixers and stuff included. If not reserving, you can show up on the night and they may allow you to enter by buying a ticket for 15euros which then gets you one drink inside. However on Saturday nights sometimes they take reservation only and will turn away anyone without a reservation. We had a problem there once as we'd made a reservation and they hadn't written it down or something along those lines but with a bit of persuasion we were in :) It's a nice club but extremely pretentious. The fact that it seems exclusive seems to be its main attraction as it's not anything out of the ordinary. The music is good but we noticed over a few visits that it seemed that the same mixes were being used. Good club if you're in that area and don't want to trek out to the others!
Not over the top, but if jeans, good jeans etc. Theme: NightclubAddress: PsirriDirections: Toward the end of Psirri, after Monastiraki Station.
