Last count there were over one hundred bars, discos, and cafes on Ios. Some of my favorites are Zulu bar, Orange bar, fun pub, Lemon bar, The Dubliner, Sweet Irish, Scorpions, Superfly, just to name a few. The all have a common theme booze, booze and more booze. Mostly people just pick the bars where they like what the DJ's are playing. My favorite place is Amedaeus run by a friendly couple Terry and Jenny. They let you pick your own music and invent your own cocktails here. Another fun thing to do is sit in the main square (also know as the lower square) preferably at Louis Cafe and watch the horde of people squeeze by the outdoor tables on there way another bar. Eventually everyone on Ios passes through this tiny pedestrian square. No cars in the village means Ios is a drunken pedestrians dream. Island casual
