 AndyRG Says:  About 5.000 residents live in this nice town of the prefecture of Arcadia (my father comes from that prefecture). Some buildings are old enough, stones and wood have been used for their construction, they add a traditional tone. The narrow streets of Leonidio make it even...

 AndyRG Says:  About 22.30 (till a few minutes after midnight), fireworks start to take place, accompanied by... fearful sounds! Dynamites and bengali lights are explosed all the time, it is worst than a real war, funny too! 

 AndyRG Says:  There is a danger of fires, in case the gas is not completely burned, and the ballons fall back to the ground, houses, even... on the heads of people! But they fall slowly... 

 AndyRG Says:  Hundreds of balloons are set off from each church in Leonidio. The sky becomes a... stage with so many lights, what a performance! Just magical... 

 AndyRG Says:  The colourful balloons are made from tissue in a variety of colours. They have a trigonal shape. There is gas in the centre, which is lightened.

 cons15479 Says:  If you take the road from Leonidion to Kosmas you will drive through a steep and fascinating gorge . The monastery of Elona ( Panagia Elona ) is impressively built inside the red rock .
