It is situated at Filellinon Square and serves meat and fresh fish. Spangetti with lobster is its soeciality but you should also try its pork with vegetables, spinach and Asyrtiko wine. For dessert you should try a slice of watermelon with mastic cream and crispy biscuits. It’ s a unique experience.

Whan Janet, Hans and I met up with Anna (Anpe) we were all in the mood for a cold drink and ice cream. We strolled to the waterfront and picked a Terrace there - PANTEBOY. Hans and I shared a huge ice cream and Janet and Anna had Frappes. A bit pricey - 6 Euros for the ice cream but a lovely spot to chat and watch the boats go by.

Janet took us to a lovely restaurant near the Harbour. NAFPLIOS is a typical Greek Taverna, serving local Greek dishes. You can go into the kitchen and see what's cooking and order whatever appeals to you. We ordered Greek salad (5.50 Euros) Grape leaves (5.90) and Beef in a red wine sauce ( 8 Euros ). All were delicious and reasonably priced too.

Favorite Dish: They prepare here a delicious moussaka.

We ended up staying in this place for close to 4 hours, ordering a few things, then an hour later, a few more.
After living in Athens for 5 months, and finally getting out of the city, I was blown away by the difference in prices and quality in the food. The Kalamari had a lovely flavor, and the saganiki was the best i've ever had.
Favorite Dish: Umm the wonderful saganiki

Nafplio is loaded with good restaurants with extensive menus, in English. All the tables are on the pedestrian streets or in the squares and it is just a matter of finding the one with the right scenery and the menu that appeals to you.

Staikopolou street which is two blocks above Constitution Squatre (Platia Syntagma), has many of them and the rest are scattered around the city.
There are also seafood restaurants on Boubalinas street along the waterfront. Try The Palio Arhontiko (Old Mansion) at 7 Siokou street recommended by the gastronomical experts at Loney Planet. We ate at the Golden Barrel on Stiakopolou street which was fine. Why we picked it over any of the others on the street I couldn't tell you so there may be better. Then again it might have been Vassilis Taverna. Make sure you try the Ouzo Karoni, which has been bottled in Nafplio since 1869, by the same family, using the same recipe.
The favorite taverna of George the Famous Taxi Driver is O Sabouras, right on the palm-tree lined waterfront. We came here with George one afternoon and had an incredible meal. Try the media saganaki, mussels cooked with cheese in tomato sauce. Also their tirokafteri, which is a spicy cheese spread. The fried shrimp and fried koutsomouris (small red mullett) were cooked to perfection. I imagine at this restaurant if you go with the fish you can't go wrong. It's at #79 Boumboulinas street.

Local people are food lovers, and Nafplio is full of tavernas for all tastes. For good, traditional Greek cuisine, try “VASILIS” in Staikopoulou Str. “NOULIS” and “EPI SKINIS” are famous for their tasty tidbits which you can escort with Greek ouzo or retsina. And if you are looking for something exotic, the restaurant of the hotel “Nafplia Palace” offers delicious sousi and a magnificent view of the town. Complete your lunch or dinner with a galaktompoureko or a baklava (traditional sweet desserts) at the famous “KATSIGIANNIS”!

Small traditional taverna (restaurant) located in a little alley in the old city. Unfortunately i don't remember the name of the road. It's a really small one and maybe you'll have to wait for a table, but believe me, it's worth it. The people are very friendly, the whole environment is very welcoming, the music usually is a traditional greek music called rebetika and most of all the food is great!
Favorite Dish: "Kolokotroneiko" rules there. It's a dish with meat and onions and some potatoes on the side. When they finish cooking it they poor a little wine on it and i don't know what spices they use but the taste comes out great!
You could also try "Bekri Meze".
"Bekris" in greek is a person who drinks too much.
Both dishes are especially for those who are about to or have drunk a lot. They are said to help you not to get so drunk. I've tried them and it really does work! (to some extent!)
