The Presidental Place is next to the east side of the National Gardens on Idorou Atikou. It is guarded by the greek honor guard, known as evzones, dressed in traditional dress of the Greek Army.

Koulouria-a typical snack
Well, I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this tip. "Koulouria" (kind of small round bread) are sold by street vendors around Athens (in bakeries as well). Try one!

Charity Bazaars are Popular in Athens!
Charity Bazaars are very popular in Athens.
One such is usually made in one of the rooms in the basement of the Metro at Syntagma, or else, the Constitution square.
Gyros consist of thinly shaved lamb in a pita pocket served together with lettuce, tomato, feta cheese, sometimes onion, and the tzatziki (white sauce made from yogurt and cucumbers) is optional.
I dont know how Greek salad looks lile in your country, but here where i live - in Latvia, it is very, very different.
Dont forget to try reall Greak salad with lot of cheese, onions and oil! :)
If you happen to be a dog and you were taken to Athens by your human, you won't have trouble making friends: just go to your nearest Ancient Ruins or downtown streets and squares.
Maybe they need to introduce Athens to cable television? That would be a major change on the city's looks. It reminds me of the sea of satellite dishes on some Brazilian favelas.

Learning just a few phrases will help you out immensely. Shopkeepers, waiters etc. certainly appreciated my attempts at politeness. Especially when I apologized in Greek for breaking a glass!
