Right in the heart of the Plaka, you'll find Bretto's's Ouzeri. It's just a little dive ozerie, where the owner makes his own ouzo, and sells it out of huge wooden barrels for about 1.50 euros a glass. It's a little touristy, but it's a great place to check out at night.
This is another Athen's must stop, even if you're not going to drink the ouzo, just to see the place and the barrells storing the ouzo. We stopped on the way back to the hotel to sample the ouzo, and my wife had to pull me out before I sampled all the bottles on the wall.
Dress Code: Casual
This old tavern (ouzery) is a real classic in Plaka. It deserves a visit even if you don't drink, just to see its old wooden interior, with those huge barrels and all the lighted bottles on the walls. The place is really small and very dark inside... undoubtely charming.
Dress Code: BUT a bit expensive (touristy), 2 euros for a tiny mini glass of ouzo!
Bretto's . Though not technically a nightspot..you must have a shot of ouzo and buy a bottle to take home to your friends.
A world reknown Ouzo bar. Don't even think of ordering anything else here! The walls are lined with hundreds of bottles of the burning stuff.
Very nice ouzerie right in the middle of Plaka. It is quite enchanting to have an ouzo or metaxa sorrounded by shelves jammed with bottles and color lights. It is very cozy and certainly favors good talks!
