    SIFNOS: Kastro

Kastro is the old capital of the island on he East side of the island: it´s a very quiet village which is best known for its very small streets with white-chalked houses. The view on the blue see is very nice from there. As we stayed in Kamares (main harbour on the east side of the island), we decided to do everything by foot. Although most visitors hire small motorbikes, distances are not that big. Anyhow, we believe hiking is the most rewarding way to ejoy the best things the islands has to offer. The same day we as well visited a very nice beach on the south of the island, of course by foot...

SIFNOS: A very small island in the Western cyclades.
As we decided to go first all the way through to the most far island tiring boat trip), we came back towards the direction of Athens. Sifnos is a very small island (9km diameter) which has quite a lot to offer. Although no main toruist attractions, most of the villages are worth visiting. The ones we liked the most were Apalonio and Kastro. Apolonio is the current capital in the center of the island on top of the hill. Therefore it offers a nice view on the whole island.
