    "Evangelismos" station

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Evangelismos is the biggest hospital of Greece. It is located at a nice area, as around it you can see the National Gallery, three of the nicest museums of Athens (see the "must see activities" tips) etc.
The work you see is called "Mott Street", it was made by Chryssa.

    Another mini-museum...

This station is between the most central metro stations, "Syntagma" and "Omonia". "Panepistimio" means university, the station is next to the central building of the University of Athens, where the administrative services are housed.
Inside the "Panepistipio" station, you can admire the work of Yannis Moralis, reproduced in bronze and ceramic, or see the mini-museum of the picture...

    Paintings of Al. Fasianos

It is the next station after the central one of "Omonia". Alecos Fasianos, who was born in 1935 and lived during his childhood at this neighbourhood, painted his memories from these innocent years at the painting you see. He combines ancient myth with modern situations. His work is mainly filled with heroic characters and allegory, I like it a lot.

Help save the acropolis from pollution and take the Metro. There are currently 3 lines with Omonia as the main junction. The original line Piraeus to Larissia is being improved as the Olympic approaches.

Athens doesn't have a lot of Metro lines, also due to the difficulty of building them. Buses net is though very developed.
Some Metro station are though very nice, built up like small museums..
