The Hydronetta, just underneath the Sunset Restaurant, is perfectly placed to catch the dying rays of the Greek sun. Grab a little table on the terrace at the edge of the cliff, order a beer, and relax as the music accompanies the sun on its journey below the mountains of the Pelopponese.

In the centre of Hydra, a minute from the port, the bar itself is converted from an old merchants house, and the tables and chairs spill out down the pathway. The music is excellent - great selection of jazz CDs and apparently they have live music from time to time, probably just in high season though. Drinks are quite expensive (7 euro for a cocktail) but you get lots of alcohol for your money!
Great atmosphere, and you can sit and gaze up at the stars. Careful - don't lean too far back after too many pina coladas!

Want to emerge yourself in the real Greek culture? You must begin by listening only to Greek music while you sip on a cold ouzo or a warm Metaxa. Or maybe just a cool glass of Mythos.
Saronicos and Nautilus are the place to be Greek.

“Spilia” Beach Club (means cave in greek) located just below the coast road going west out of Hydra town towards Kaminia (next to Sunset restaurant) is more than a nighttime bar. Located next to Spilia rocky beach is one of the best sunbathing places under the sounds of upbeat music music along with a nice cocktail. There is also good menu for quick food, desserts, full bar, lots. I would highly rate it as a perfect place to enjoy the (almost) panoramic harbor view while enjoying your drink away from the frenetic loud sounds of the bars downtown.
It is open from morning till late night.
So the “Spilia” concept goes like that: Arrive in the morning, have breakfast, then sunbathe and swim, stay for lunch, chat with friends, play backgammon, stay for dinner and party the night away….

Amalour Bar located close to the port, just along from Alpha Bank is a popular and the most cosmopolitan bar on Hydra (though has no port or sea view). It’s clientele varies from locals to anyone wanting to enjoy upbeat atmosphere (indoors) more laid back depending on the night and who's around (outdoors). Outside there are lots of little tables and director chairs that get rearranged as groups of friends enlarge throughout the evening. The music tends towards Latin rhythms but is varied depending on the DJ.
Naftilos is a small bar lying on the west side of the port on your way to Kaminia area.
It plays mainstream greek music and usually on weekends it gets packed with locals and guests. As space is limited, dancing possiblities are limited but as always it depends on your mood as well.
But if you don;t want to sweat and have the loud music in your ear drums, then you can enjoy the music by sitting outside the bar, enjoying the night view of the port
If you like greek music and you want to socialize with local people you can find yourself leaving the bar when the sun is rising in the sky: the bar closes (?!) at 6am or a bit later. emember bars usually get crowded after 12am!!
