Kodylenia's taverna is situated on the waterfront in the area of Kaminia. Point of report the ideal setting the nature makes with the sunset. Down at your feet there is an amazing fishing harbour with wooden boats and local fishermen.
Kodylenia's Taverna is open from March up to the end of October. The place is accessible on foot (15 minutes' walk) or with traditional boats and high-speed water taxis.
It serves fresh cooked food and fresh fish. Every morning the owner runs around in order to gather the fishes of the day. The music is splendid and it creates a climate of mental well-being. Calm, relaxation, a fantastic journey in the dreams in the splendid shades of the imposing rocks all around.
"Anemoni" confisserie: Sweets like sin...
You think your blood sugar levels are low? Then it's just a short walking distance from the port to "Anemoni" confisserie. Ice cream, cookies, a large variety of sweets made locally, or even coffee are sold or served on spot (there are tables outside). Particularly try the local delicacy (amygdaloto or zakharobaklavas) which are guarranteed fresh. Over the years I should advice you to taste the candy with plum, chocolate cream, walnut and covered with chocolate. Simply delicious, so much that you can become addicted.
Mrs Flora runs the confisserie and her two suns (John and George) are the ones responsible for the delight in your palate.
"Anemoni" is open from the morning till late night.
Sunset restaurant: Dinner with view
If you opt a fine dinner with excellent view watching the sun setting and money doesn't matter, then "Sunset" restaurant is your best bet on the island.
Located a bit off the main port on the way to Kaminia, it enjoys wonderful views (see additional pics) over the sea and the Peloponnese coast. Arrive there just before sunset to enjoy colors and serenity.
It is more pricey than average on the island but it's cuisine is more "classy" meaning it has more international touch. Anything from meat to salads and seafood (expensive indeed) is served outdoors. If you arrive early enough you can find a table just at the end of the balcony to enjoy undisturbed views.
I'm not a frequent costumer, I have been there as guest in formal occasions but service and food in all occasions was excellent.
Right next to the (dis)embarkation point of the ferries is this outdoor cafe, spreading as it does along the seafront prom. Great place to people watch (locals and tourists) - excellent place to start the day with a Greek breakfast and coffee.
Favorite Dish: Breakfasts and snacks throughout the day.
Marina's Taverna: Wonderful Sunset Views
Fantastic location...perfect for watching sunset. There is no menu..the waiters take you to the kitchen and show you the fresh fish they have caught that day plus other dishes prepared. Outstanding !
