Poros Travel Guide

 AndyRG Says:  The town of Poros is popular, especially between the Athenians who have yachts - or rent them.During the summer weekends, it will be difficult to find an empty space... 

 AndyRG Says:  This is the view of the port of Poros and the town of Galatas in the mainland from the clocktower.A romantic place, surely... 

 AndyRG Says:  The clocktower (built in 1927) is the first image of Poros, as it is located at the top of the hill in the centre of the town, among pine trees.It rises above the town of Poros and rings every hour. 

 AndyRG Says:  ...and Poros becomes even more fascinating, especially if you start walking in its narrow streets and observe everything around you... 

 AndyRG Says:  The town has a cosmopolitan and traditional colour at the same time.There are many taverns, cafeterias, tourist shops, bars next to the coast. 

 AndyRG Says:  It is a part of a house, in a neo-classical style. For "walking cameras" as me, Poros town is an ideal place to spend some films in a short time... 

 AndyRG Says:  These pigeons were waiting to have their meal too, small pieces of bread and cheesepie, next to the sea. 

 AndyRG Says:  I don't know why, but I'm jealous of them, their life sounds so quiet and peaceful to me, although it has its difficulties too.Maybe I was a fisherman in my previous life... 

 AndyRG Says:  This is one of the few two-floored houses of the town.Most of them are by the sea and big, in a neo-classical style. 

 AndyRG Says:  Sometimes Andreas leaves his weapon -the camera- and is being photograghed too.I think it would be better for him just to take pictures... 

 AndyRG Says:  Such pictures are common in any greek island, Poros couldn't be the exception.I wonder how postmen can find the right address all the time... 

 AndyRG Says:  It was constructed in 60's, located next to the sea. The museum is small and has two floors.The exhibits are objects from excavations in ancient Kalavria (the main part of the island) and Troizinia.Unfortunately (for me), pictures -even without flash- are not allowed...

 AndyRG Says:  It is the view from Galatas, the little town in mainland. After 5' by ferries or sea taxis you are already in an island...
