If you have not hired a car Taxis are very reasonable to hire,but make sure you agree the price before hand, we used Taxis a few times to get from from Agia Efimia to Sami and vice versa.
The driving can be a bit erratic.

By boat, you can reach Sami starting form the Patra's port.
