Luggage and bags: Take a bag with the wheels. Some streets are for pedestrains only.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Take a sandals and a nice summer dress (black is a Greek white, so if you like black it will be perfect on Crete) for the night out in the town.
During the day, unless you really hike in the wilderness I prefer a short skirt and a small top. You will sweat a lot, so shorts can sometimes look awkward when moist....
I use flip-flops every day, but have a pair of something more walking friendly in the trunk just on case there is a cave to crawl in to or a small hill to climb.
Sunglasses is a must!!!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Mosquito Repellent is a must!!!!
You will not be able to enjoy your dinner after the sunset if you don't have one. There is nothing romantic about the Mosquitos unless you are an entymologist...

Photo Equipment: Smaller the better, and make sure you have a lanyard so it does not slip out of your sweaty hand :-)
And the plastic water camera is a great thing to have. You can buy it in US for about 10$ and it has about 20 pictures

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Bring your own beach towel to place between your body and the beach bed. Good towels on Crete are expensive and the cheap one are too small to lay on.

Miscellaneous: No matter how many stuff you will pack, you will end up waring every day the same skirt or shorts. It will be the one you will not sweat in too much and the one you will not see ugly moisture spots after getting off the chair.
