Instead of heading back to the beach there is a faint path that takes you along the west coast for a couple of kilometres and you can pick up your original path from the deserted village back to Korfu
If you are looking for a really Deserted beach then the one at Akrotiri Tripiti will be the one for you, It is a good hours walk south of Korfu and is really Beautiful, No buildings, No water, No Nothing -- Just a Beautiful beach !!!
From Korfu it is about 4 kilometres to Akrotiri Tripiti, the most southern point of Europe, there is an excellent path that starts off from just behind the beach and it will take you a good hour to get there ( + stops) -- Make sure that you have Plenty of food and water for the day as there is Nothing south of Korfu
There are Five villages on Gavdos but two of them are completely deserted, you will come across them whilst walking around the Island !!
Korfu beach is a good choice of somewhere to go / stay -- we camped but there are also rooms available at Georgios and Maria's Taverna.
The west Coast of Gavdos is Rugged, High cliffs with no beaches but very Beautiful and well worth a walk !!!
OK -- I had heard about this chair but even after hearing about it I didn't expect that it would be this big !!!! -- Sit back and survey Europe -- It is all in front of you !!!!
