Gavdos can be Very windy -- when the Sirocco blows it really blows -- look what it has done to the light house at Akrotiri Tripiti !! -- there are at least two here that have been blown down !!!!

If you could find a good map / guide book on Gavdos then it would be worthwhile ( Helga had one fairly good guide-book on Crete that had a section on Gavdos but it is only available in German ) !! I have added a map here to give you an idea of the Island !!
