Argripouli Waterfalls
Our rep mentioned these waterfalls to us. Coming from the Lake District in England, we had visions of great torrents of water rushing down a gorge. When we arrived at this poorly signposted place we were met by hordes of school children complete with wog boxes and ineffectual teachers. The children were even asking us for beer and cigarettes. We promptly asked them (in Greek) what time they were leaving and left, to return another day. On our return visit we were disappionted to find the falls appeared to be man-made, or at least some were. There were ornamental pools full of rubbish and pipework sticking out left, right and centre where they were abstracting water. The one good point was the situation, in a lovely wooded ravine.We just enjoyed the tranquility (no screaming children today) and the setting. Try not to coincide with a school trip or coach trip!!!! They make a mockery of...
