NEA MONI monastery is the most famous monastery in Chios, build back in the 11th century. It has gorgeous byzantine paintings. It’s under construction the last years. Luggage and bags:
Don't carry a heavy suitcase. You will surely want to bring back with you some of the home-made sweets and marmelades and these are quite heavy to carry.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Carry a pullover or a light jacket even if it is the middle of summer because it is much cooler on the mountains where you will visit Anavatos, Avgonima, and other villages in the north.
Photo Equipment: A video camera or your digital camera will do fine. The island is SO beautiful that you will surely take many photos. Of course this stands if you are a person who loves taking photos.
Miscellaneous: Don't forget you mobile's and camera's chargers, as well as your laptop's.
