there are two ways to get to the island. one is by boat leaving from the port of Chios which takes about four hours and a traditional wooden kaik which leaves from Limnia the port of the village of Volissos on the north west of the island. If you happen to be in Volissos take the kaik. It is so much more beautiful and authentic. A pure joy with its sails and ropes and sea smell.
