In Greece there is only one kind of being which can be life - threatening (except from people, of course). It is the viper (actually several types of viper), and it can be found in Samothraki. Normally you won't come across one, as they tend to disappear when they hear noise. But if you happen to be "off the beaten path" you might have the pleasure of being introduced to it. Just stay cool and out of its way. It won't attack you unless it feels threatened. The only reason I put the picture up is so that you can have an idea of what it looks like. I don't mean to scare anyone!

I've mentioned goats before, but in combination with the narrow and curved roads, one should be very careful while driving. When on a scooter, an additional difficulty to overcome can be the wind, which can literally throw you at the edge of the road..
When you are out walking then keep your eyes open as you never know what you are going to see around the next corner !!! We came across Tortoise on two separate occasions whilst out walking !! A Great sight and one that I felt privileged in seeing so Keep Those Eyes Peeled !!!!
Watch out for goat invaders. It is better not to park your car under some trees. The reason is obvious. Watch photos No1 and No2.
The sign in the picture says: "Attention! Do not park (your cars) under the trees. The goats climb (on them)".
I thought i should warn you, in case you don't speak greek ;-)
