"The Marquee" is the place to see the live shows, some good some not so good, depending on personal choice.
Impersonations like: "Madonna" "Rod Stewart" "Tina Turner" We enjoyed the Madonna & Tina Turner.
Rod Stewart (not so much) seemed more interested in swinging his microphone stand about.
Then there were the Shows ! Not to my taste, however they were very popular.
The Marquee is set out just like a night club stage, comfortable seating and air conditioned.
At the end of the day there was something for everyone and with so much on board to see and do it was only one of the places to go!.
Dress Code: " Casual "
This to me was the place to be,it had a nice cosy relaxing feel with the right entertainment, whether it be Quiz night, Karaoke Night ,comedy Night or just being serenaded to, it was enjoyable.
I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to Jo B who was the Compere around the ship and kept us all amused and had a wicked sense of humour.
It is advisable to get there early on most nights if you want a seat, this place is very popular. But is not really a place for the youngsters under 16 as most nights are themed as adult nights.
Dont worry about getting drinks from the bar, there are more than enough staff walking round serving drinks, after two weeks you hear this echo (Any Drinks? Sir or Madam).
Dress Code: "Casual"
Pagopiio is a cool bar-restaurant at saint Titus square, downtown.Gourmet (and expensive) food at noon, funcky music at night.Tip:the best design toilets i've ever seen!
Milos club at Mitsotakis street for good live(Greek and foreign bands) music, winter only.
Guernica is a small foggy bar with a nice yard in a small road near Dikeosinis (justice) street (the street name is Andreou Critis) playing classic rock and progressive music.
Itar is a two-floor club with loud non-Greek music(this is in contrast to most clubs that play mainly populo-modern Greek music-sucks!),downtown.Now,what is the street name, beats me.
At Ammoudara which is a suberb of Heraclion (there is a bus at city center every 20 minutes),there are plenty of clubs,open-air or not ,plus cafe-bars close to the sea.Their names change every year ,but you can easily find one that suits you.
A t Daidalou st (directions below) you can buy music CD's from Virgin and Metropolis shops as well as design clothes(which can also be found at 1821 st).It is the main student area.
Dress Code: You could also try going to a summer movie theater (therino sinema) to watch a movie under the stars ,smelling the scent of jasmin in the air.I heard that it is a Greek patenda, this kind of cinemas.
Try to avoid touristic tavernas with"live Greek music",they don't offer any quality, except if you are a Cretan traditional "lyra" fan.
... TO GO TO BED and I'll have plenty of time to sleep on the beach tomorrow.
LET'S HAVE SOME MORE FUN AT THE TIGER-BAR...
Hey, they are playing the theme song "Ayla" from Flash In The Pan - just S U P E R !!
In Hersonissos all restaurants are situated along the harbour.
No particular favourite one as almost everyone was serving typical greek and seafood.
In two weeks time I had the opportunity with my friend Kati to try them all.
first the salt,
then the tequila in 1 shot
and last the lemon...
...oh boy, will I survive? YES I did but then my friend Vesa wanted to challenge me to a tequila-shot race...and I did survive it too (won't tell how many we drank, lol but too many!!)
Irakleio has an interesting nightlife all over the year, especially in the summer, of course...
It can be a perfect city for... night owls, there is a big variety of nightclubs, concerts, restaurants, bars and whatever you wish.
If you're in Hania, then you might want to try out Prima night club! But it is right by all the clubs and pubs too!
If you're in Agios Nikolaos, then Rule Club is pretty cool! But there are a bunch of Greek clubs too.....just ask your waiter or waitress....
Beautiful, just beautiful.
Dress Code: Club wear.
Try to guess what on earth are we doing there?!!
YES, YES.... SURE...trying out some NEW cocktails... at a BAR!!b
This is -TIGER- the bar's pet CAT

Some of my finnish friends joined me for a week...and of course we had to celebrate their arrival...at the hotel BAR!
...it was a whole show put up by those real cute greek guys...
well it was their *summer job*: make drinks and entertain young ladies ;-)

Nightlife never ends in Heraklion. So, just get out there and enjoy it. I am sure you will have a great time. There are many night clubs, pubs and everything you can imagin. Places for any taste.
Cafe Ellas, in Agios Nicolaos, is a nice place to begin, relaxing beneath some trees at a square nearby the harbor.
