    Large Jellyfish

Katakolon, beware of the jellyfish, these buggers are large very large. I certainly would not want to be stung by one.
This was the only place we saw Jellyfish on our travels, but I have to say these looked really mean.
"what type are they" I hear you say,I don't know is the answer and i certainly was not going to get in and ask them.

    Fakes

This particular point apply s to Kusadasi in Turkey. Not really a danger more of a novelty, they do not hide the fact that they sell fake designer watches ,belts jackets you name it, and i have to admit to they are very convincing fakes too.

    Hand gel

Whilst getting on board ship and entering places on board you will be required to use the Hand gel for hygiene purposes, we didn't find this a problem at all and became second nature after a little while.
After all it is in everybody's interest to keep any bugs at bay.
You wont miss them they are everywhere.

Don't drive your car into the city!!

I recommend you to park your car along the harbour somewhere.
Don’t drive your car into the city like we did, we got stuck in the narrow streets several times!
In Greece everyone park his car where ever he wants and it seems if no one care if cars can pass.
Cars are parked double, directly on corners of the streets, in the Netherlands we have to park at least 5 metres from corners.
The Greek even park in the middle of the road when they have to be in that particular shop for a few minutes, if they are in the way for you, simply honk the horn!

    Water?

There is no drinkable water in Heraclion, you must buy bottled water instead. Why rest of Crete has good water and its capital hasn't is a mystery to me.
Generally it is a safe city.I often leave my car unlocked and nothing happens.People tend to trust each other here!

    Be careful when driving!

    So funny!

This is a funny sign by the municipal police (about collecting the rubbish), it makes whomever knows to read Greek laughing at once, as there are so many orthographical mistakes... If a driver sees that sign, maybe there will be an accident...
