This is the most Oriental looking of the 2 Chinese Restaurants in Gouves although none of the waiters were Chinese; the food however certainly is fantastic. We did not go for the usual tourist thing of just ordering one of the set menu’s advertised, instead we made our choices separately from the menu. Starting with Hot and sour soup which was practically perfect we went on to fried wontons and spare ribs. Main course we had Chicken Szechuan style, Beef with oyster sauce and fried rice. This was certainly the best Chinese food I have had abroad and maybe even in England and I used to work in a restaurant in China Town in Manchester.
The food we had did of course come to a lot more than you could have had a set menu for, but the set menus are the things most people will order and so they have all the stuff ready. (Maybe it’s just a matter of warming them up) order something different and they have to cook it fresh and believe me, what we had was fresh and very very tasty.
We went Back again the day before we came home and once again the Food was Excellent although the service was sadly lacking this time, The waitress had only wrote one soup down and they brought us the wrong bill at the end and we ended up paying for Banana fritters that the waitress said were on the house. It was a shame really because without those couple of things it would have been perfect. It is still a great place to go though and like I said, the food is lovely.
